Research & Initiatives
Our research focuses on analyzing the prospective association between dietary factors (nutrients, antioxidants, foods, food groups, dietary patterns), alcohol, and lifestyles, and outcomes such as cardiometabolic disorders (obesity, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, hypertension), atherosclerosis, and cardiovascular disease. And also we're interested in cognitive aging, inflammatory response, changes and development of cardiovascular risk factors, and total and disease-specific deaths. Our approach includes data-driven and hypothesis-driven analysis, integrated analysis of systems levels, exposome-(nutrient-, or food)-wide association study and also includes the development of dietary indices and the application of emerging machine learning technologies. And we are interested in exploring areas of precision nutrition, precision public health, innovative approaches to discover diet-health associations, and causal inference.
